All grade levels are looking at different kinds and styles of poetry this month. Second and Third Grade are having a Poetry Tasting. Kindergarten used the Code and Go Mice to find rhyming words! The entire staff will be participating in Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 18th. There are also lots of poems displayed throughout the building for teachers and students to read throughout the month! This week was mostly about research with students in grades, K-4. Research is still an important process. Knowing the difference between fact and opinion is a foundational information literacy skill.
After reading Good Night Bat! Good Morning Squirrel! - by Paul Maisel, students in grades K-4 researched either a bat or squirrel and their habitat. They were required to use both Pebble Go and Britannica School to locate factual information. In addition to the research, students created a picture of their animal to accompany the information. Students will be uploading their pictures and a short video of facts to the app HP Reveal.
